Privacy Policy
This policy covers the Simple VPN Android app, the Simple VPN web dashboard at vpn.parkerdata.link, and the VPN service behind them (together, "Simple VPN"). Simple VPN is operated by Parker Data Link, LLC ("we", "us"), based in Indiana, United States.
In short
We keep your account details, how much data your devices use, and a short-lived log of connections made through the VPN. The connection log records when a connection started, which VPN address it came from, and the address and port it went to. It does not record page contents, messages, or what you type. Connection logs are deleted after 35 days.
1. Information we collect
Account information
- Email address, used to sign in and to contact you about your account.
- Password, stored only as a one-way hash. We cannot read it.
- Account details: plan (free or paid), time zone, date the account was created, and time of last sign-in.
Device and tunnel information
- Device name you choose (for example, "My phone").
- WireGuard public key and the private VPN address assigned to the device.
- Private keys: the Android app creates its private key on your phone. That key stays on the phone in encrypted storage and is never sent to us. Devices added through the web dashboard (configuration file or QR code) have their private key created and stored on our server so the configuration can be shown again.
Usage information
- Data totals: bytes sent and received per device, per calendar month, used for plan limits.
- Connected time: seconds connected per day, used for the free tier's daily time allowance.
- Rewarded ad records: when you watch a rewarded ad to earn VPN time, we record the time and Google's transaction ID, linked to a random identifier created for your account. This record is what credits your time.
- Subscription records (Amazon Appstore version): when you subscribe to Simple VPN Premium through Amazon, we store the Amazon receipt ID, your Amazon Appstore user ID, the product, the purchase date, and the cancellation date if there is one. We check these with Amazon's Receipt Verification Service to confirm the subscription is active.
- Account activity log: sign-ins, devices added or removed, and administrative actions, kept for security.
Connection logs
When traffic leaves the VPN server, the server records each new outbound connection: the time, your device's private VPN address, the destination IP address and port, and the protocol. These logs exist so that abuse reports (spam, attacks, legal complaints) can be traced to the responsible account. They do not contain the content of your traffic, the pages you view, or the names of the websites you visit.
Connection logs are kept for up to 35 days and then deleted.
What we do not collect
- The content of your traffic: pages, messages, files, or form entries.
- Your contacts, photos, precise location, or other files on your device.
- Payment card details. Purchases in the Amazon Appstore version are handled by Amazon; we never see your card or billing address.
2. Advertising
The Google Play version's free tier is supported by ads served by Google AdMob (banner ads and optional rewarded video ads). Google may collect your device's advertising ID, IP address, and device information to show and measure ads, as described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your Android settings.
The app's own traffic, including ad requests, does not go through the VPN tunnel. Ads are never placed over the connect button or connection status.
The Amazon Appstore version has no ads and does not include the Google AdMob SDK.
3. How we use information
- To create and run your account and VPN tunnels.
- To apply plan limits: devices, monthly data, and daily time on the free tier.
- To credit VPN time earned from rewarded ads.
- To confirm Amazon subscriptions and apply the paid plan while a subscription is active.
- To prevent and investigate abuse, fraud, and violations of our Terms.
- To respond to your requests and send account notices.
- To meet legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your VPN traffic for advertising.
4. When we share information
- Service providers: Oracle Cloud Infrastructure hosts our servers in the United States. Google provides ads and ad reward verification in the Google Play version. Amazon processes subscription payments in the Amazon Appstore version and confirms receipts for us.
- Legal requests: we disclose information when we are required to by a valid subpoena, court order, or other legal process, or when needed to protect people from harm. Only the information described in this policy exists to be disclosed.
- Business transfer: if Parker Data Link, LLC is merged or sold, account information may transfer to the new owner under this policy.
5. How long we keep information

6. Security
- All communication with our servers uses HTTPS.
- VPN traffic is encrypted with WireGuard.
- Passwords are stored only as one-way hashes.
- On Android, the tunnel key and sign-in token are kept in encrypted storage and excluded from device backups.
No system is perfectly secure. If we learn of a breach affecting your information, we will notify you as required by law.
7. Deleting your data
- Remove a device: in the app, tap Remove this phone. The device's keys and address are revoked at once.
- Delete your account: email paul@parkerdatalink.com from the email address on the account, with the subject "Delete my Simple VPN account". We delete the account, its devices, usage records, ad records, and subscription records within 30 days, except records we must keep for tax or accounting purposes. Deleting your account does not cancel an Amazon subscription; cancel it in your Amazon account. Connection logs are deleted on their normal 35-day schedule.
You may also ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, at the same address.
8. Children
Simple VPN is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict use of your personal information, and to object to its processing. To use these rights, email us at the address below. We respond within 30 days.
10. Changes to this policy
We will post any changes on this page and update the effective date. Significant changes will also be announced in the app or by email.
